Federal Hill Pizza was started in 2005 by William Manzo, Jr. out of the back of his cigar lounge on Federal Hill in Rhode Island. It was here that the popularity of Bill’s pizza began to flourish and people began to take notice. Soon, customers were calling for deliveries. Soon after that something unpredictable happened. A woman stopped by to purchase just the dough to take home to make her own pizza at her husband’s request. She wondered when she would be able to buy the dough in her local market. William happily put a dough ball inside a plastic cigar bag and sent the woman on her way. The next day, William began his venture to acquire wholesale accounts for his pizza dough and shells. Today, Federal Hill Pizza products are in over one hundred supermarkets throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Chef Manzo also has the honor of being a member of the World Pizza Champions™ team with whom he travels extensively competing in various pizza competitions all over the world.

Federal Hill Pizza dough is NOT bread dough. We pride ourselves in being true pizza dough which is best used for pizza, calzones and dough boys. This traditional, artisan recipe was developed from a combination of William cooking with his grandmother and his visit to Naples, Italy, where his family emigrated from. Growing up he was constantly around fresh and healthful foods. William lives by his words, “Keep it simple and only use the BEST ingredients”.
